Hi, I am Sam, your Newborn Photographer in Canterbury, Kent.
My comfortable studio is based in St John’s Lane, Canterbury, and can be easily reached from Sandwich, Deal, Folkestone and other parts of Kent. I specialise in creating timeless portraits of your family and provide beautiful images and wall art for your home.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME FOR A NEWBORN PHOTOSHOOT?
During the first 3 weeks of life, your little one will more easily settle into a deep, relaxed sleep.
This, combined with their natural ability to settle into those beautifully curly poses we all love, makes this the ideal time for your newborn photoshoot.
This is also why I always encourage parents to get in touch during pregnancy: this gives us a little longer to prepare, book your session and decide on the styling you prefer for your images.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Your Newborn Photoshoot is entirely baby led, which means we will take the necessary time for your little one to settle, for feeding (and snuggles!) breaks if necessary.
Throughout the session, which can last up to 3 hours, we will work with a workflow that allows us to capture a variety of stunning photographs of your baby while minimising any disturbance.
Your newborn photoshoot can focus on your little one only or include family images and all, of course, will be styled combining my signature style with your favourite colours.

I am so excited you have chosen me for as your Newborn Photographer in Canterbury (Kent).
A £65 non-refundable session fee is required at the time of booking to secure your date and time.
Full use of my range of specialist props, backgrounds, wraps and headbands is included.
All sessions include a styling consultation.
YOUR GALLERY REVEAL APPOINTMENT
Approximately 2 weeks after your session you will be invited back to the studio for your reveal appointment, so you can finally see your beautiful gallery of images and choose which package suit you best!

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO BOOK A NEWBORN SESSION?
Most people will book their newborn session after their first scan, this enables them to have the best chance of booking in close to their due date.
BUT I DON’T KNOW WHEN MY BABY WILL BE BORN?
Within reason, we can create any set up to suit your needs!
Providing you have left enough time between booking and the session date itself, almost anything is possible! A 6″ basic round cake is included with your session but, of course, if you prefer to bring your own cake we can talk and ensure it matches the setup I have created for you!
MY BABY IS ALREADY HERE!
If this is you, all you have to do is email me and let me know your due date or how old baby is and when you would like your shoot and I can see what availability I have. All is not lost.
NEWBORN WRAPPED MINI SESSION
Theses are a shorter version of my full newborn sessions, ideal if you are only looking for a few digital images in one setup colour – the session usually lasts up to one hour.

YOUR QUESTIONS
Considering a Newborn Photoshoot at my Canterbury studio? Here’s some frequently asked questions!
Is there a cut off date for newborn sessions?
The best time to book your newborn session is when your baby is between 5 & 14 days old. I acccept babies upto the age of 6 weeks for newborn sessions.
What if my baby is older than 6 weeks?
If your baby is older than 6 weeks we can still book a session. It just wont be a newborn session. Please get in touch and we can work out the best one for you.
Can we bring other people to the session?
Family and sibling images are included in your session cost. If you wish to bring extended family, please contact me and make this known before booking.
Can these session be done for any age child?
Yes of course, there is no age limit for cake smashes, although an older child will not get the splash part of the session.
What happens if we can't make our session?
In the event that you can’t make your session I ask that you contact me as soon as possible so we can arrange a new date for you. I am able to rearrange on one occasion free of charge, but subsequent rearrangments will incure a new session fee to be paid.
When will my images be ready?
You will be asked back to the studio for your viewing appointment usually 2-3 weeks after your session date.
What shall I bring to the shoot?
I advise that you bring snacks for you and any siblings attending, especially if mum is bresatfeeding.
I also advise that you bring a change of clothes for yourselves in case your baby decides to go to the toilet just as you are holding them. Also if your baby has a dummy, please bring that along with you also.
